Aluminium Windows and Doors in London
Slimline aluminium windows and doors with narrow sightlines, huge glass areas and powder-coated finishes that last for decades.
The details
Aluminium gives you more glass and less frame. Its strength means sightlines can be far slimmer than uPVC, so the same opening lets in noticeably more light, which is why architects specify it for extensions, lofts and contemporary London homes. Our background in commercial shopfitting means we know aluminium properly, from thermal breaks to powder-coated finishes.
Modern aluminium windows are nothing like the cold, condensation-prone frames of the past. Every system we fit uses a polyamide thermal break between the inner and outer frame, so the cold outside cannot conduct through to your room. The result is slim, strong frames with thermal performance to rival uPVC, available in almost any RAL colour you can name.
The finish is where aluminium really earns its keep. Powder coating is baked on in the factory, so it will not warp, crack or need repainting. Anthracite grey RAL 7016 remains the favourite for London extensions, but black-on-white dual colour, where the frame is grey outside and white inside, is increasingly popular because it keeps the inside bright while the street face looks sharp.
We fit aluminium casements, awning windows, fixed-and-opening combinations, and aluminium doors from single glazed doors to large sliding systems. Because our owner came from the shopfitting and shopfront trade, we are completely at home with the finer points of aluminium: correct gasket fitting, drainage, hardware adjustment and the clean sightlines that separate a good installation from a mediocre one.
Aluminium suits bigger openings and modern spaces best, and it pairs beautifully with brick London terraces that have been extended to the rear. If you are planning an extension or want to replace mismatched old frames with something cleaner and brighter, start with a free survey. Common questions
Is aluminium better than uPVC?
Neither is universally better. Aluminium is stronger, slimmer and best for large openings or a modern look; uPVC is usually more cost-effective for standard openings. We will quote both where it makes sense and explain the difference honestly.
Do aluminium windows rust or corrode?
No. The powder-coated finish protects the metal for decades. Quality systems are tested to withstand years of British weather without flaking or fading.
Can aluminium be any colour?
Yes, any RAL colour, including different colours inside and out. Anthracite grey and black are the most popular in London right now.
